Conference Excursions
Medicinal and Edible Plants of KwaZulu-Natal

The IPUF Organising Committee has organised
an exciting itinerary for 2024, featuring an interesting mid-conference excursion on Wednesday 14 April 2024.
Participants will embark on a guided exploration of West coast medicinal plant species led by the knowledgeable local healer, Mr. Bertie Jacoman, within the charming town of Mamre. Following this walk, participants will enjoy a packed lunch at the historic Mamre Moravian Church.
The excursion continues with a brief wildflower showcase at the Tienie Versveld Wildflower Reserve, offering a wonderful flower display. Then, participants can enjoy the flavours of artisanal brews with a beer tasting and tour at the local Darling Brewery.
Concluding the day’s excursion is a guided tour of the impressive Duckitt Orchid Nursery at Oude Post.
